I am a wife, mother and life-long pet owner. Other than the college years, I have always had dogs and/or cats in my home. I’ve also had the wonderful childhood privilege of raising chickens, cows and pigs. My family presently includes 2 dogs (George and Greta) and 4 fish (Finny, and the 3 baby Finsters). As far back as I can remember, it was always my job to feed, water and exercise our family pets. I am an animal lover, and I enjoy taking the time to get to know the unique personalities in all pets.

My desire to put together my own business came from a season of examining the needs of my family and my natural giftings. The “playful” in Playful Pet Care, wasn’t just added because it has a nice ring to it. I truly am a “playful” person. I have a B.A. degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies from Western Washington University. My husband and I got to know each other while playing rollerblade hockey late at night in a Costco parking lot. I have spent the past 9 years as a (mostly) stay-at-home mom raising my 2 boys and loving it. I have most recently worked as a part-time “play-group” instructor for toddlers and moms at a local community center. There is no denying it; I’m very talented at “play”.

Now that my kids are getting a little older, I thoroughly enjoy volunteering at their elementary school. I’m thankful for the slow transition from at home all day to at school most of the day. And now that they are both in full-day school, I’ve decided it’s time to start something new. I’m ready to try a new adventure and put my “play” skills to use in a new arena.

I believe that my active, caring, and playful personality can be a benefit to my clients at Playful Pet Care. 30 minutes of exercise and mental stimulation can be cleverly disguised as a game of hide and seek with a dog. It will stretch out cramped muscles, relieve stress, give a sense of purpose and provide affection to a pet that is just waiting… for their family to come home. I want to know what your pet’s favorite games are, and I hope to teach them a few of mine.

Of course, the rewards aren’t just for the pets. I enjoy living an active lifestyle. I like walking and hiking, gardening and playing outside with my kids and dogs. I also want to be available to volunteer at my children’s school for as long as they will have me there. It’s my desire that owning and operating Playful Pet Care will give me the flexibility to continue to support my community through volunteering.

I look forward to getting to know your pets and serving your family. Once we have established our service relationship, please let me know if there is a way I can serve you better. I’m always interested in constructive feedback.
